PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanpur Cantt was started in the year 1982.
The vidyalaya began in the year 1982 with classes from 1 to 5 being run for the students.Later, in the year 1995, it was shifted to its own building with the provision of educational and co-curricular facilities for classes 1 to 12 .

Currently ,the vidyalaya is facilitated with Science, Commerce and Humanities stream for senior secondary students. Spread in a sprawling area of 60387.19 square metre.

The Vidyalaya became a PM SHRI Vidyalaya in the year 2022 and has been making systematic endeavours for the all round development of the students.
Currently The Vidyalaya has Classes from I to XII with an enrolment of more than 2216 students having Science, Humanities and Commerce Streams.
